It fit the bill, but nothing special. First, it is the perfect size for the corner of our son's bedroom. We purchased to put in our 13 yo bedroom - the style is simple and clean. He and I put this #desk together (he was great at lego's, so I figure, putting this together was almost the same thing). We had an issue with the shelf - the pre-drilled holes were not lining up as much as we tried to get it to line up. After awhile, we gave up on it. 

 It fits the bill for what we were looking for.
