The Charlie Step-Up Captain's #Bed is a sleep space, desk and storage solution all in one smart furniture piece. With a pull-out desk, three drawers and four cubbies in a hand-applied finish that showcases the natural grain of the wood, this children's furniture collection is as timelessly styled as it is expertly crafted.
HOW IT IS CONSTRUCTED
Crafted from solid poplar wood, poplar veneers, engineered wood and MDF. Frame-and-panel construction adds strength and structural integrity you can trust. Kiln-dried wood helps prevent warping, splitting, cracking and developing mildew. The use of veneers results in high-quality furniture with flawless surfaces and consistent color tones.
Mattress platform is made of 100% solid poplar wood in slat-roll for extra strength; designed for use with a twin bunk mattress (sold separately) and without a box spring. Drawers feature English dovetail joinery and waxed wooden glides, which ensure smooth motion. Sturdy half-moon safety stops keep drawers securely in place. Finished by hand in child-safe, water-based Weathered Navy paint that provides durability, depth of color and richness to each piece of furniture.
